Villa Sammasan is a fun and easy escape for families. Children at Sammasan are sure to love the freedom to swim, play and dine in the privacy of the villa, while parents will relish having dedicated staff on hand to assist where needed. Like most places in Thailand, children are greeted warmly here, and if holidaying parents hope to enjoy an afternoon or evening outing without the kids, the villa manager can arrange to bring in an experienced babysitter for a small additional charge.
The villa’s pool and terrace is a fun and relaxing spot for all ages to enjoy, and if they need a break from the tropical sun, kids will delight in the comfort of the media room and the play area – specially furnished with colourful kids’ furniture – on the lower level. The villa is fun to explore, but with the open pool and works of art throughout, younger children will need a careful eye.
The benefits of having your own equipped kitchen and personal chef are obvious to those on holiday with kids. If you have a baby or fussy eater in tow you’ll have the option of self-catering or discussing your requirements with the staff to ensure that even those with limited palates are well nourished during the holiday. The chef will be able to recommend simple, tasty dishes that are sure to appeal, such as skewered chicken satay, pad Thai noodles or fried rice.
Bringing along kids’ equipment on holiday can be a burden, so please don’t hesitate to advise us of your needs in advance and we can take care of it. The villa’s kid-sized play table and bean bags could be placed in any room while baby cots, high chairs, car seats and more are available for hire at reasonable prices.
For family adventures beyond the villa, find some ideas on our ‘Things to do’ page, or check with the villa staff about their recommended family friendly sights and activities.
Sammasan is a vibrant villa brimming with life and colour, from its superb sea and tropical sky views to its whimsical interior spaces and the warm hospitality of its staff.
Resting on a hillside within the exclusive Surin Heights estate overlooking Surin Beach, Sammasan is well situated for enjoying Phuket’s enticing sights and nightlife and is ideal for families or groups seeking a private retreat. Indeed, the villa serves as a family escape for its owners; the word ‘Sammasan’ is derived from a combination of family names.
Spread over four levels, Sammasan is a true home away from home. Indoors, the main gathering spot is the large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Bright with eye-catching touches including a zinc-topped dining table circled by sunny yellow chairs and overhung with a trio of colourful pendant lights, the room is fronted by floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that flood it with natural light and give easy access to the pool, sun terrace and shaded sala. Down half a flight of stairs on the mezzanine level is the media room with TV/DVD player and ultra-soft sofas to sink into.
The entire top floor is taken up by the lavish master suite, a large space with breathtaking sea views best enjoyed while soaking in the bathroom’s jacuzzi tub or out on the suite’s comfortably furnished private balcony. Two brightly hued guest bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and the other with twin beds, are tucked away on the lower floor, each with an ensuite bathroom. Each room is adorned with a lively mix of paintings and art pieces that exude the villa’s fun character.
Included in your stay is the service of four dedicated staff including a Thai chef who is available for all meals, and a manager providing guest service in the villa as well as assisting with tour and dining reservations, transport, spa treatments and more.
Just down the hill is Surin Beach, an 800-metre stretch of sand that has been designated a royal park with the simple pleasures of sea, sand and shade to enjoy. Along the streets of the village approaching the beach are some of Phuket’s finest dining spots, spas and shops, while Kamala and Bang Tao beaches with a range of beach clubs, seaside restaurants and watersport activities are just a few kilometres away.
